Oh no.

You can clearly tell I dove very far into the fandom when I felt strongly enough to make an OC.

I hate that term, by the way. OC.

It sounds so unprofessional. "Original Character". It has the strongest of connotations that can
ONLY mean I'm trying to add something to a series I really love. Also known as fan creation, or
fan character. Even if it wasn't from someone else's work, it doesn't speak well for the subject
in question, and regardless of the intention of the artist, the implication is still there that
this is not exactly something well thought out, but rather something jumbled together and
developed later(never).

I don't DO OCs anymore. I make characters. What's the difference, you ask?
Well, a character always is put into a story with a known, certain role. They already have their
history and a place in their world, even if nobody, not even the author, knows what it is yet.
Such place in the world shows by how well they simply fit with the narrative of the story.
Every character must enhance the setting just as much as the setting enhances them.

And so, an OC, as frequently presented, does not happen to be a character as they usually
are just slotted in awkwardly to a setting, or simply have no setting of their own.

OC is, in the end, just a term given unfortunate meaning due to history, just like words like
"eugenics" or "crusades".

This OC does appear somewhat frequently, however, so I leave you with this:
Of course she's overpowered. She can manipulate light for some reason.
